Lia Mice’s acclaimed third album, ‘The Sampler As A Time Machine’, gets the remix treatment from an impressive array of electronic music’s most exciting producers. Lia Mice is an experimental producer, DJ and instrument designer with a love of hand-crafted electronic sounds. For the remix album, Lia Mice has called upon a selection of her favourite creative visionaries, who each give their own fresh and vibrant perspective.
In Lia Mice’s words: "The remix artists are all producers, performers and DJs I have played alongside over the past few years. Some I met through my experimental club night Electrolights AV, which has been a real treasure trove for me in terms of discovering artists who are creating extremely unique production methods and live shows. Each producer has their own signature method and style of dance music production, from live coding (digital selves) to hyper-chopped house (Loraine James) to unorthodox electro (Odd Lust, Kid Who). The result is a sonically rich and diverse album that surprisingly works as a whole."
All proceeds from sales of this remix album will go towards the creation of the world's first collection of accessible instruments - the Accessible Musical Instrument Collection (AMIC) www.drakemusic.org/accessible-musical-instrument-collection/. The collection will be available for the public to use at Drake Music's headquarters in London.
